Ripples of goodness

When the world feels chaotic and overwhelming, I try to focus in on small actions I can control and envision the ripples of goodness those small actions create.

The other day a new parent of one of my pediatric patients shared,

"Thank you so much for helping him, he really does seem like a happier, more comfortable baby.

After two gentle adjustments in the first months of his life, this little person is now able to turn his head more freely, digest more comfortably, and generally feel more at ease in his body. This small but mighty action will have lasting positive impacts on his gross motor growth and development, sleep health, head shape, as well as the emotional dynamics and well-being of his entire family.

This is why I have the best job!

What small actions can you do that can create lasting positive impact?

  • plant native species in your yard

  • walk or bike instead of driving

  • bring your neighbor some muffins

  • start composting

  • donate to a fundraiser

  • shop small and local

  • tip generously

  • vote in local elections

  • send an old friend a postcard

What else can you think of? Lean into your own strengths and passions! These small actions add up, and create ripples of goodness in our own spiritual and emotional health, the well-being of our communities, and humanity at large.

Warmly,

Dr. Lizzie
